Trademark Stamps

Occasionally you will find the same slide with different trademark markings on the bottom of it. Certain companies may manufacture a collection of slides exclusively for a handful of distributors. Some will stamp a distributing companies trademark on the pieces when ordered in bulk.

Old Victoria - This company was established as a PO Box in Memphis, TN and existed around 1994 through 1999. It was a side company of Richard Glatter intended for low-end slides to be sold to Service Merchanndise. The line of slides were very thin and light. No longer manufactured with this mark.

RVS - Royal Victorian Settings was a limited distributor of Specialty Casting. Use of the RVS stamp was discontinued on slides middle of 2003. All RVS stamped slide designs are protected by copyright owned by the creator Brooks Fine Jewelry. Sales of *new* slides with the RVS stamp are possible reproductions and should be reported to the creators.

TCC - The Chain Center in Little Rock, Arkansas is a distributor of slide products from the US and overseas.

* or SS - Stuller, Inc. trademark looks like an asterisks. See manufacturer section above.

There are other companies that claim to manufacture slides. Many of these companies simply buy the pieces (also known as jewelry findings) that are necessary (the box and the top of the slide) from such suppliers as Stuller Settings and assemble them and set a stone in them. Often times they even buff off trademark stamps and place their own mark claiming they created the piece. Some companies take other jewelry such as ring tops and convert them into a slide by attached the ring top to a slide box. See Personalized Slides for more information.
